The CNAJEP IN BRIEF
   THE SECTOR
 
The Youth and Community Education represents:
More than 430 000 community education organisations (which constitute 49 % of the total number
of voluntary organizations in France)
More than 6 millions volunteers
An overall budget of around 18 billions euros, which is 1,4 % of the GDP
About 680 000 employees (330 000 full time employees).
 

THE HISTORY

 

CNAJEP is a non-profit organisation which was set up in 1968 when various Youth and Community Education Movements decided to gather up and create a discussion and concertation platform , aimed at representing youth and community education movements before the Authorities.

 

A NETWORK
 

CNAJEP is made up of more than 70 Youth and Community Education national organisations.
CNAJEP acts on a regional and local level through a network of local federations and confederations (CRAJEP/ARDEVA/FSPVA).

 

   A DEMOCRATIC LIFE

 
  • The Policy Office is the decision-making body which validates and commits the CNAJEP in the implementation of its orientation and political expression.
    It is composed of 8 members:
    The President, Philippe DEPLANQUE (Fédération Nationale des Francas)
    The Treasurer, Dominique GIRARD (Eclaireuses et Eclaireurs de France)
    The General Secretary, Yann Lasnier (Fédération Léo Lagrange)
    5 vice-presidents:
      - "Youth Policy" vice-president: Cécile Charmoille (MRJC)
      - "International Relations" vice-president: David Lopez (La Ligue de l'Enseignement)
      - "Volunteering and professional training" vice-president : Jean-François Magnin (Cemea)
      - "Regional and local networking" vice-president: Gilles Lebail (FFMJC)
      - Nadine Dussert, Vice-president (UNHAJ)
 
  • The Executive Committee is elected for 2 years by the General Assembly. It is in charge of the implementation of the CNAJEP's orientations. It elects the Policy Office and the President.
 
  • The General Assembly, the statutory sovereign body, defines the CNAJEP policy. It adopts every year the activity and financial reports.
 
  • The permanent staff is in charge of implementing the CNAJEP's policy.
    It is made of 3 people:
    The chief representative, Benoît Mychak
    A management officer, Christine Marotta-Frenois
    A project officer, Magali Verdier.

The CNAJEP insures the representation of the Youth and Community Education organisations before the authorities and within joint and inter-organisations commissions

  • The CNAPS (National Council for Sports and Training activities)
  • The OMNAS (National Research Institute for Sports and Training Activities Careers)
  • National Federation of Professional Training Centres for Sports, Tourism and Youth Activities Careers
  • The YFJ (European Youth Forum)
  • The National Committee for the Youth European Program
  • The Orientation Council for the OFAJ (Franco German Youth Office)
  • Coordination SUD, which gathers together French organisations and agencies of international solidarity.
  • The COCODEV (Commission for co-operation and Development)
  • The Joint Monitoring Committee for the International Youth Solidarity Program
  • The Joint Monitoring Committee for the City Life Holiday / International Solidarity Program
